Apocrypha is a visually stunning, large scale, circus and physical show for general audiences, by award winning performance provocateurs Oozing Future.

Directed by Mitch Jones (Circus Oz, Slava’s Snowshow, AutoCannibal) and inspired by cult cinema and Jean Genet, this remarkable show explores the queer experience of being a social outsider, using non-verbal experimental circus to create compelling emotional narratives.

Apocrypha includes exhilarating, dreamlike sequences where a tightrope walker dances along a rusty chain; an acrobat spins hula hoops that blacken his body with painted scars; a hand-balancing contortionist squeezes milk from a stone, and a clown wearing a cloak of nails tries to escape from his own skin.

Calling this genre ‘alt-circus’, Oozing Future showcases a dynamic style that connects with general audiences through fierce poetry and spectacle, boldly combining performance art with popular entertainment.

The premiere season in October 2024 was acclaimed by both critics and audiences alike, with people leaving dozens of organic social media comments, describing the show as ‘stunning’, ‘unbelievably beautiful’ and ‘breath-taking’.
